A Sunny Afternoon in Charlevoix is an original acrylic painting done with a brush and a palette knife.
I had been in a creative slump lately and had not painted anything in at least a month. And not an actual “painting” painting in much longer. My son Ryder got me the book Daily Painting by Carol Marine for Christmas. It was just what I needed. Very inspirational! I, of course, knew all the painting techniques that were covered but to read her positive words about what to paint, to paint small, and every day really hit home. Sometimes artists get stuck in a rut and then they get the equivalent to what is call writer’s block. Another thing she said was to paint something I was familiar with! Well, I thought, my good friend the lighthouse! As soon as I decided on my subject and pulled out my references the sun came out. And we have “A Sunny Afternoon in Charlevoix Original Painting”.
Part of the Pure Charlevoix Collection.
(All paintings are photographed in natural light to bring out the texture and true color of the painting. Although I try my best to match the colors in the photo to the artwork, slight differences may occur in color due to differences in monitor screens, and lighting conditions under which the artwork is viewed.)
